I'm gonna miss this so much!

We took the tram to a random part of town tonight. After walking around forever (it always seems to happen that way), we found a restaurant and had a really cheap dinner that was amazing! I had penne pasta with mushrooms and spinach in a gorgonzola sauce. Nick had spaghetti bolognese. It was good to get away from the middle of town.

On the tram ride back, we stopped at an exit where a coffeeshop caught Nick's eye. It was so cool! I wish we had purchased all day tram/bus passes while everyone was out here. The center of town is such a hole, and it's fun to take the tram to random places!

Oh yeah, so that coffeeshop...it had 3 pool tables and a foosball table. It was really spacious in there, and all of the seating tables were really big. It would have been another great place to go with everybody if we had tram passes.

I really want to come back here again, but I know it will probably be a long while before we do this trip again! It was amazing, though. Everything worked out exactly as it was meant to. I love the Netherlands!!!!!!!

Bye Sarah & Blair :(

Happy last day

We're enjoying ourselves on our last day. I am SO BUMMED because the boat I wanted to go on wasn't doing a tour today. Tell me this doesn't sound freaking amazing:

The St. Nicolaas Boat Club gives the best boat rides in Amsterdam. They're not like the big tour boats. They have a small old open boat that holds about 10 people. It's much more like going out with friends than being on a package tour. The pilot of the boat asks you where you want to go and what you would like to see. Being small, these boats can go down the smaller canals the big glass covered boats can't navigate. There are no taped narratives, just lovely scenery and a great ride. The best thing to do in Amsterdam!

You can drink, smoke and eat anything you can buy in Amsterdam, (all BYO). At the end they pass around a can and you can give a donation if you want. There's no pressure to pay. They're non-profit. They're great. You sign up for rides at Boom Chicago on the Leiseplein.

Oh well! We wandered around and finished buying souvenirs. I think we've done everything we've wanted to do (except for that canal ride which would have been so freaking awesome!)

Some more pictures...I have permission to post some people pictures too! I haven't heard from Wendy, so I am not going to post any pictures with her in them until I do.

Like my new shirt?

Trying to finish it off, man!

Say it ain't so!

I know we've been gone for a long time, but I still don't want to go back to America tomorrow!!

Today we are probably going to buy a 24 hour bus/tram ticket and just ride around and get off at random stops. We've already done one canal ride, but there is another one that got rave reviews on tripadvisor and it's free!!! So we will probably check that one out today.

I have a few more souvenirs I'd like to purchase, so hopefully we'll find awesome stuff at some of our random stops.

We've been doing a pretty good job getting rid of our pot (and everyone else's - haha!). Actually, we bought a new bag yesterday even though we still have some because Blueberry is awesome (especially out of the vaporizer!) I hate having to go home from this amazing place empty handed, and I really wish the use of marijuana was this civilized in the States.

Few pictures from last night:

Wax On, Wax Off

I am so happy Nick is feeling better today! We got some medicine from the pharmacy, and he looks and sounds a lot better now. Madame Tussaud's was really cool, and we took a lot of cheesy pictures. I'm just going to make this another picture post.
